Here’s a refreshing and easy recipe for classic homemade lemonade. Perfect for a hot summer day, this lemonade is made with simple ingredients and can be customized to your taste. Enjoy it chilled with ice and a slice of lemon for a delightful treat!

Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar

  • 1 c. water (for the simple syrup)

  • 1 c. lemon juice from four to six lemons

  • 3 to 4 c. cold water (to dilute)

  • Ice cubes

  • Lemons, sliced, to garnish (optional)

Directions

  • Make simple syrup by heating the sugar and water in a small saucepan until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  • While the sugar is dissolving, use a juicer to extract the juice from the lemons, enough for 1 cup of juice.
  • Add the juice and the sugar water to a pitcher. Add the cold water to the desired amount of taste. Refrigerate for 30 to 40 minutes. If the lemonade is overly sweet for your taste, add more straight lemon juice to the pitcher.
  • Serve with ice and sliced lemons to garnish if you would like.
