When I was growing up, I loved sweets so my mom and grandmother made up this recipe as a way of incorporating sweets and fruits. My grandfather and I LOVE this dessert. Pops actually loves it so much he wakes up in the middle of the night and eats the oranges out of it. The evidence is always there the next day.

Ingredients

1 small bag mini marshmallows
1 large can crushed pineapple, drained
1 cup coconut (optional)
1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
1 cup sour cream
1 large can mandarin oranges, drained

Directions

Combine sour cream, crushed pineapple, marshmallows and coconut if you’d like. Mix together in a large mixing bowl. Add pecans and mix. Last add mandarin oranges. Flavor is best when it sits overnight in the fridge, but if you are like me you can just stick it in the fridge while you eat dinner then have it for dessert. If you’d like the fruit salad sweeter, you can add a smidgen of vanilla to the sour cream.
