Wildflower Walk

July 27 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Wildflower Walk

Join botanist, Patty Butter, for a leisurely walk and learn about the identification of summer wildflowers. Contribute as a citizen scientist to increase our knowledge of the ecology of the Preserve by logging your observations in the iNaturalist app.

Meet in the Visitor’s Center courtyard.

Dress for a moderate hike with sun protection and bring water.

Bring a camera or cell phone to take pictures and add the iNaturalist app to your phone before attending.

Recommended text: Newcomb’s Wildflower Guide by Lawrence Newcomb. If there is heavy rain, the walk will be canceled; you will be notified by 5 pm the day before.

This program is wheelchair-friendly. The trail around the lake is 16’ wide, relatively level, and made of hard-packed gravel. The route will be about 1.25 miles round trip at most.
