Welcome to Mars! (Kids of All Ages)

November 28th is Red Planet Day, when we celebrate Mars, the fourth planet from the Sun. The NASA spacecraft Mariner 4, which launched on November 28, 1964, executed the first successful flyby of Mars. It landed on the Red Planet on July 14, 1965 and ultimately relayed 22 pictures of the surface of Mars back to Earth. Mariner 4’s photos were the first ever close-up shots sent from deep space. Go NASA!

In this kit, you’ll receive:

- One Mars planet craft

- One Mars rover craft

- Coloring pages, a word find, an info sheet, a maze, a color by sum rocket page, an I Spy activity sheet, and much more!

Pickup times are 3 pm to 7 pm on Thursday, November 16th inside the library

CURBSIDE pickup is also available

If you need to pick up at a different time, PLEASE notify us BEFORE the pickup date so we may make arrangements with you
