Walking the Appalachian Trail in NJ @ Main Library

March 7 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

Nearly every thru-hiker I meet tells me how surprised and delighted they are with New Jersey’s section of the Appalachian Trail.
-George Lightcap

Join veteran hiker George Lightcap for a virtual hike down the Appalachian Trail from the Delaware Water Gap to Bellvale Mountain. George shares the views, significant landmarks, and flora and fauna of NJ’s 72-mile section of this historic footpath. There will be tips for day hikes, loop hikes and backpack expeditions.

A former teacher in Vernon Township and now teaching at Sussex County Community College, George has been walking the New Jersey Appalachian Trail since 1982 and making it part of the classroom for countless Vernon and SCCC students.

Registration begins February 22.
