The Haul Out – Hang Out!

Come meet with a park ranger to learn about Sandy Hook’s winter residents: the seals!!
Come “hang out” with a ranger and learn more about the lifestyle of the seals that visit Sandy Hook! Explore the world of these charismatic marine mammals as we delve into topics such as identification, habitat, and diet. Visitors will also learn about how human impact has played a role in the return of the seals to Sandy Hook. Visitors will meet at the Fort Hancock Post Museum at the start of the program and then walk over to the bayside to see if seals are “hauled out” nearby. Bring binoculars and come dressed for winter weather.
