The 14th Annual Park Slope 5th Avenue BID Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony + Celebration

The Park Slope 5th Avenue Business Improvement District (BID) is pleased to announce its 14th Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony and Celebration on Saturday, November 25, 4:30-5:30pm.
Set for Small Business Saturday, the Park Slope 5th Avenue BID’s Holiday Tree Lighting is a homegrown community street party held in the epicenter of the Shop Local/Shop Small movement, home to more than 525 independently owned shops and restaurants.
The Holiday Tree Lighting kicks off a robust holiday season on 5th Avenue, says Joanna Tallantire, executive director of the Park Slope 5th Avenue BID. “This year we’re thrilled to celebrate on the Fourth Street Plaza, our welcoming new public pedestrian space. We’ve also added some exciting new businesses to the mix – a running store, a romance bookstore, jewelry shop, and coffee shops and restaurants galore. These join our roster of beloved small biz staples – Freddy’s, Al Di La, Annie’s Blue Ribbon, Yayo’s, Blue Sky Bakery, Something Else, Bodytonic, Square Stores, The Gate, Zuzu’s Petals, and Leopoldi.”
Tallantire adds, “Many of our small businesses are offering Small Business Saturday specials so people can enjoy a wide variety of deals and discounts to kick off the holiday season, while they support local!” (Details here).
Fun and festivities will start at 4:30pm, culminating with the tree lighting at 5:30pm sharp. The FREE family-friendly event will feature:
- Photos with Santa, live and in person
- Letters to Santa – write a letter to Santa and post in our special mailbox
- bubble blower extraordinaire Bubble Dad
- Kids’ music with Patrick
- Touch-a-Trash-Truck for kids
- Churros from Simple Loaf Bakehouse
- Mexican Hot Chocolate from Chela
- Park Slope Parents Fun for Kids

Tallantire says Santa will be shopping and making himself available for photos on 5th Avenue on Small Business Saturday 12-2pm (north section) and again on Saturday December 9th 12-2pm (south section).
