Solar Eclipse: Viewing, Imaging, and the Wonders of the Universe @ Dorothy Henry

October 3, 2023 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Brian Deis – local astronomer, and President of MrStarGuy, LLC – will give a talk on how to safely view and photograph the two upcoming solar eclipses. Brian has been a lifetime astronomer and eclipse chaser, traveling the world to photograph solar eclipses. He currently resides in Wantage and makes good use of his home observatory to view, image, and teach about the universe.

Tonight’s presentation will highlight how to safely view and image the annular and total eclipses occurring later this month and next April. In addition, Brian will explain the astrodynamics of eclipses on Earth as well as other celestial bodies. If time permits, he will discuss the history of our galaxy as well.

The PowerPoint presentation and Brian’s humorous way of explaining a subject will make for an enjoyable evening. Registration begins September 19. Recommended for adults and older teens.
