Join us for a two mile history hike along Sandy Hook’s Fisherman’s Trail out to the tip! Spectacular views of New York Harbor!
Join a ranger for an afternoon hike to the tip of Sandy Hook and see New York Harbor like never before! From lightships and the Sandy Hook Pilots to the modern-day Coast Guard, we’ll discuss the history and methods used to make New York Harbor a safe place to travel by water. We will start by climbing the two-story Observation Deck and then we will hike on loose sand to the tip of the Sandy Hook spit. This is a strenuous hike! 2 miles. Water, snacks, bug spray, binoculars, and sturdy hiking boots or shoes are recommended. Dress for warm weather. Free!
