Reading Buddies via Zoom

Do you need a little bit of help completing your summer reading goals? Do you do better reading with a friend, or family member? Do you love to read or listen to stories?
If you answer yes to any of these questions, Book Buddies Summer Reading program might be a great program for you!!!!

Book Buddies is a special summer reading program for children of all abilities, ages 2 – 17. In this customized program, children will be teamed up with a teen or adult and read an age appropriate book that will be selected by the child or parent. Children will read or be read to for 15 minutes. Children will log their reading, and receive a prize at the conclusion of that days reading.

This program will run from Friday, August 11 through Wednesday, September 6th and is available in group/or individual programs both virtual and at each of the branches at Sussex County Library System. Registration is required. Limited space. Please see our event calendar for dates and times.

On this day, Ms. Debbie will hold a group reading program virtually. Limited space. Children will read or listen to the book, Frog and Toad Together by Arnold Lobel. This is a Newbery Award Winner Easy Reader book. This book is available through the Sussex County Library System. Please request the book so your child will be able to read with Ms. Debbie or follow along. At the conclusion of this program, children will be told they can come to the library to pick a prize out of the treasure chest for doing a great job!

A zoom link will be sent to the adult who signs up at 12:30pm on the day of the program.

Review of book:  Frog and Toad Together is a Level Two I Can Read book, geared for kids who read on their own but still need a little help. Stories are engaging with longer sentences.  Pountas and Pinnell:  Guided Reading Level K.  Grades: K-2.
