Monarch Habitat Hike

July 28 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Monarch Habitat Hike

Explore the habitat of monarch butterflies with Shayla and Hailey on a family-friendly hike at Rockwood Hall. Learn about the monarch life cycle and their incredible transcontinental migration, why their numbers are in decline, and what we can do to help them.

The hike will be about 2 miles with frequent stops for discussion.

The hike is at Rockwood Hall, DO NOT go to the main Preserve entrance.

The parking lot is on Kendal Way off route 117, just after the intersection of Phelps and Regeneron. If the lot is full, you may park in the Phelps garage (free). Gather at the kiosk at the top of the hill across the street from the parking lot.

For the exact location of the parking lot, visit: nynjtc.org/hike/rockwood-hall-sleepy-hollow.

Please wear sun protection, bring water to drink, and wear comfortable closed-toed shoes. Long pants tucked into your socks are recommended to prevent exposure to ticks and poison ivy.

In case of bad weather, the hike may be canceled or postponed; you will be notified via email by 5 pm the day before.

Max: 20 people
