Maple Sugaring Family Workshop

March 14 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Enjoy an afternoon of maple syrup history and get to meet some Maples at the Preserve

Join us for a sweet hands-on program all about maple sugaring! Learn how maple trees turn sunlight into sugar, how that sugar becomes sap, and how people transform sap into the syrup we love. We’ll explore why maple sugaring has been historically and culturally important in the northeast for indigenous communities and early settlers, and hike to meet some maple trees ourselves. Participants will get an up close look at maple sugaring tools and techniques, and yes, we’ll even get to taste some maple syrup at the end!
