Happy Holi Crafts! (Kids of All Ages)
Holi is a joyful Hindu holiday celebrated as the Festival of Colors, Love, and Spring. It marks the end of winter and honors the triumph of good over evil. During Holi, people throw gulal (bright colored powders mixed with water), light bonfires (Holika Dahan), sing, dance, eat sweets, and generally have an amazing time. This year, Holi begins on Wednesday, March 4th. Let’s get ready to celebrate love, friendship, and new beginnings!
In this kit, you will receive:
- Bonfire paper craft (your own Holika Dahan!)
- Colorful tree paper craft with tissue paper squares
- Non-toxic colored powder (gulal)
- Happy Holi paper crown to decorate and wear
- Placemat activities, emergent reader booklet, word search, coloring pages, and more!
Crafts can be picked up on THURSDAY, February 19th from 2 PM to 6 PM. Curbside is available.
Need to pick up later? We will hold your crafts from Thursday evening until Friday at 5 pm (no later) AS LONG AS YOU CONTACT US IN ADVANCE.
Reminder: All patrons are required to comply with the library’s policy against bullying, harassment and lewd behavior. Patrons who engage in abusive behavior will forfeit, at least temporarily, their right to request craft kits. Please remember to be kind.
