Flower Power: Superstitions in Floriography @ Main Library

June 15, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Free

The seeds of superstition are tightly sown into flowers. Floriography was a Victorian practice where particular types of flowers meant different things. A woman rejecting a suitor might send him yellow roses; a man leaving for overseas might give his girlfriend forget-me-nots.  Join author and journalist Carlotta Holton for a discussion of the many superstitions, traditions, myths and legends attached to flowers.

Registration begins June 1.
