EARTH DAY CELEBRATION!

April 22, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

EARTH DAY CELEBRATION!

Join us in commemorating the 53rd anniversary of Earth Day!

Let’s come together to advocate for sustainability, climate action, and environmental protection through education in this family-friendly event.

Meet animal ambassadors, plant seeds to take home, and watch a live birds of prey demonstration featuring hawks, falcons, and owls. Learn about ecology, conservation, agriculture, waste management, native plants and pollinators, and more!

We will have representatives from several local environmental organizations tabling at the event, such as: Stone Barns Center, Greenburgh Nature Center, Saw Mill River Audubon Society, Healthy Yards, NYS DEC, Sustainable Westchester, Tarrytown Environmental Advisory Council, etc.

If you’d like to participate in seed planting, please bring a small clear plastic container with a lid such as the pint-sized soup containers you get with takeout. We will have a limited supply of containers, first come first served.

“Education Stations” will be set up from 10 am – 2 pm.

The Birds of Prey show will take place at 2 pm on the Overlook Trail, a short walk from the Visitor’s Center.

*PLEASE NOTE: Dogs and horses will not be allowed on the Overlook Trail during the Birds of Prey show.*

If the parking lot is full when you arrive, you may park on Rt. 117.

You do not need to show tickets.

The rain date is Sunday, April 23; you will be notified via email at least one day in advance.

Visit earthday.org to learn ways that YOU can take action and make a difference.
