Amoeba Hop!

August 27, 2023 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Amoeba Hop!

Beat the heat and hop into a puddle with Author/Illustrator Betsy Franco-Feeney as she reads from her six-foot wide giant book! Based on the song by Christine Lavin, Amoeba Hop tells the tale of the lonely paramecium who finds a partner through binary fission.

View a live sample from the Preserve’s Swan Lake under a microscope and become part of the story as we groove to the Amoeba Hop.

Appropriate for all ages. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The program will take place in the art gallery at the Visitor’s Center, no pets please.

Max: 20 people.

Illustrator and author/illustrator of over a dozen picture books, Betsy Franco-Feeney is an award-winning artist living in Rockland County. A fervent recycler, composter and EV hybrid car driver, Betsy believes adults need to lead by example. She wants to help the next generation deal with the increasing challenges of climate change.

“With my books, I am planting seeds to grow a scientist or two. At the least, I hope to peak children’s curiosity of nature, to explore it and respect it.”–BFF.
