Selecting Trees That Thrive in Urban and Suburban Landscapes: Free + 1 Continuing Education Unit (CEU)

May 7 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

(for adults)

Guest Speaker: Vincent Simeone, Horticulturist, Lecturer, and Garden Writer

Selecting the right tree for the right location in urban and suburban settings can be surprisingly challenging. These environments place unique demands on plants, and only certain species and cultivars truly thrive in parks, traffic medians, streetscapes, and naturalized areas.

In this lecture, Vincent Simeone will highlight outstanding deciduous and evergreen trees suited to these landscapes, as well as for private backyards. He will discuss species that support birds and pollinators, and those that offer valuable traits such as deer resistance, drought and heat tolerance, and resilience against pests.

This FREE lecture is presented in collaboration with The Summit Shade Tree Advisory Committee.

Attending this lecture, earns you 1 Continuing Education Unit (CEU). Registration is required.
