Access Family Program: Astronauts Aboard (Teens & Adults)

February 8 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The Intrepid Museum offers Access Family Programs for teens and adults with developmental disabilities and their families and friends!

Access Family Programs (Teens & Adults)

The Intrepid Museum offers programs for teens and adults with developmental disabilities and their families on select Sundays during regular Museum hours. Families can participate in hands-on activities, enjoy a light snack, and take an inclusive guided tour of the Museum. A separate program for children is offered in the morning. Families receive a social narrative and visual vocabulary and schedule in advance.

Astronauts Aboard

From incredible journeys to sea and space, the aircraft carrier Intrepid helped recover astronauts during the Space Race, while the space shuttle Enterprise tested the future of spaceflight. Learn more about the surprising connection between these two icons and what it really takes to blast off into space and return safely home.

Check-in begins at 1:30pm.

Looking for a program for younger visitors? A similar program will be offered from 11:00am to 1:00pm for children under 17 with developmental disabilities and their families. Register for the children’s program here.
