Martin Luther King Jr. Volunteer Day of Service, FREE Volunteer Event, 12+

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is the only federal holiday designated as a National Day of Service. In honor of the day, join us for a litter cleanup along the lakeshore and possible maple sap collection dependent on the weather. This program is designed for ages 12 and up.
Please dress accordingly for the weather. Bring a jacket, closed toe hiking shoes, and a water bottle. Litter picking materials (pick sticks, gloves, trash bags, etc.) will be provided.
We will meet at the Environmental Education and Resiliency Center in Field 1 of Hempstead Lake State Park.
No admission fees for this program. Each person in your party needs a ticket.Reservations are required for all programs. Space is limited. If you are unable to keep your reservation, please cancel so others may have the opportunity to attend. Please try to arrive at least 15 minutes early.
