Faith Ringgold Collage Art! (Kids of All Ages)

February is Black History Month! During February, we honor the work and contributions of African-Americans now and throughout history.

Faith Ringgold was a Black artist, writer, and activist from New Jersey. She was known for her story quilts, which mixed painted images and text with traditional fabric quilting. We are going to make our very own story quilt!

In this kit, you will receive:

  • Information about Faith Ringgold
  • Coloring page
  • Directions
  • Black cardstock
  • An assortment of patterned fabric swatches and cool scrapbook paper to create your story quilt

Crafts can be picked up on THURSDAY, January 23rd from 2 PM to 6 PM. Curbside is available.

If you need to pick up at a different time, PLEASE notify us BEFORE the pickup date so we may make arrangements with you. Unclaimed kits will NOT be held without prior arrangements.

2025 CRAFT POLICY:

Unclaimed crafts MAY be made available to the public after the pickup date. When this happens, those unclaimed crafts will be released on Friday mornings at 9:30 am when the library opens. The library reserves the right to limit the availability of unclaimed crafts.
