Vernal Pool Hike
April 2, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am
Vernal Pool Hike
Vernal pools are ephemeral water sources that attract a variety of wildlife such as wood frogs, mole salamanders, and fairy shrimp, who utilize these habitats for breeding.
Join natural resource specialist, Josh DiPaola, in search of these transient domains. We’ll listen for frog breeding calls and hopefully observe the egg masses for a variety of amphibian species.
Meet in the Visitor’s Center courtyard. Hiking boots with long pants tucked into your socks are recommended. Bring binoculars if you have them.
Appropriate for all ages.
In the event of rain, the hike may be canceled or postponed; you will be notified via email the day before.
Max: 20 people
