DESCRIPTION:‘Bathe’ in the forest atmosphere using your senses\, mindfulness and short guided meditations\n\n\nFirst one for 2025! The practice of forest bathing means to immerse oneself in the forest and soak in the atmosphere through the senses. Today’s walk at an easy pace will focus on connecting to nature through mindfulness\, as we explore our senses and the present moment through short\, guided\, meditations and breathing exercises in the forest. Through this practice\, we aim to deepen our connection to our mind\, our body\, and the life around us in nature. \nAt the end of our walk\, we’ll sample a tea made from pine and spruce needles foraged on the Weis property\, with some seasonal variations throughout the year. This tea is meant to show our gratitude and appreciation and is a way of tasting and taking in the land to further connect to it. \nForest bathing has been shown to help decrease stress levels and anxiety\, and helps improve the immune system and symptoms of depression\, to name a few benefits. \nCome explore a new way of walking through the forest! \n \n\nLed by Lead Educator Lauren Lynch.\nOpen to ages 13 and up.\nRefundable with 2 week’s notice. Today’s walk at an easy pace will focus on connecting to nature through mindfulness\, as we explore our senses and the present moment through short\, guided\, meditations and breathing exercises in the forest. Through this practice\, we aim to deepen our connection to our mind\, our body\, and the life around us in nature. \nAt the end of our walk\, we’ll sample a tea made from pine and spruce needles foraged on the Weis property\, with some seasonal variations throughout the year. First we’ll learn about the process\, history and ecology of maple sap and syrup. We will take a short hike to learn about winter tree ID\, sap ecology\, and tree biology\, and discuss the history of tree tapping and some of the many things that sap is used for. We’ll visit our tapped trees where we’ll learn how to tap\, collect\, and taste the sap\, then see how the evaporator works. Then we will have a blind syrup taste test in the covered pavilion (with heaters)! \nWe will end the program with a cozy bonfire and time to chat over hot chocolate. \n\nAdults only (ages 18 and up)\nDress appropriately as the program will be held outdoors\nFollow the driveway and park near the main brick building

DESCRIPTION:Earn your Eagle Scout required Citizenship in the World Merit Badge!\n\n\n\nPre-requisites: #4c and #7. These should be completed prior to the in-person class\, and we will review and discuss during class.\nTaught by our certified merit badge counselors\, who have completed Youth Protection Training.\nScouts should bring a blue card signed by their unit leader/scoutmaster and with all requirements listed\nScouts should wear their uniform.\nThis is a drop-off class. Please drive in through the outer gate and drop-off at the main brick building. Parents and leaders are welcome to remain onsite.\nCancellations requested 2 or more weeks in advance will be refunded at the full price.​ Refunds are not available with less than 2 week’s notice.
