Diwali symbolizes the spiritual victory of light over darkness\, good over evil\, and knowledge over ignorance. \nIn Prospect Park\, join the celebration by decorating clay with acrylic colors\, and create flower garlands\, called har-mala\, and honor the rich artisanal textiles and attire of India. Plus\, create Rangoli designs with flower petals and enjoy a performance with Rhythm Tolee\, an award winning New York City based Punjabi band. Enjoy seasonal discovery stations\, fun-filled education opportunities and more to celebrate our earth. \n2 – 3 pm The Arrival \nJoin Prospect Park Alliance for The Arrival\, a dramatized mythical production about how water came to Earth production by Something Positive\, a New York City based performing arts and education organization dedicated to preserving the art and culture of the African Diaspora and its cross-cultural influences. This performance blends the creation myths of the Yoruba of Southwestern Nigeria with science and technology for an intriguing\, larger-than-life\, multimedia performance. The performance includes dancing deities\, live vocals and percussion\, with powerful light projections and an atmosphere of awe and excitement.
