DESCRIPTION:Take a hike and harvest vines to wind your own wreath base. Decorate\, and then take home your beautiful decorative wreath!\n\n\nCelebrate Summer’s beautiful blooms by creating your very own floral wreath! \n \nIn this workshop\, participants will take a short hike in the Van Cortlandt Park forest and harvest vines to use as the base of our wreaths. Back at the Garden & Compost Site\, vines will be twisted into a round shape\, ready to be adorned. Wreath decorations will include a mix of natural and artificial materials including seasonal flowers! All necessary materials will be provided.  \n \nGeneral Admission ticket ($20) includes entry for one adult\, or one adult and child/teen over the age of 12.  \nFor adults with more than one child/teen\, there is a smaller fee for each additional child ($10). DESCRIPTION:Learn the art of flower pounding. Print your own botanical pattern onto paper and fabric. Take home your own printed tea towel!\n\n\nLearn the art of flower pounding! \n \nFlower pounding is the arranging and hammering of freshly picked plants onto paper or cloth so – their natural pigments are released to create beautiful organic patterns. Each participant will receive watercolor paper and a tea towel to create their own botanical prints.  \nAll necessary materials will be provided.  \n \nParticipants are also allowed to bring one additional cotton fabric to decorate (must be pillow-case sized or smaller). DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a Full Harvest-to-Wreath Experience!\n\n\nSaturday\, December 16th • 11 am to 2 pm \nRain Date: Sunday\, December 17th • 11 am to 2 pm \nLet your creativity run wild while helping your favorite park! \nAfter a short hike in the park to pull and collect invasive vines\, learn how to mold the twisted woody vine into a wreath\, ready to decorate with a mix of natural and artificial materials. Everyone goes home with a festive decoration. All supplies will be provided…you provide the creativity. \n \n\nThis is an outdoor event. Please dress for the weather.\nSpace is limited and pre-registration is required.\nHot cocoa will be provided!\n\nFees \nPlease purchase 1 ticket for every person attending. Each person will take home a wreath. \n\nGeneral Admission (age 17+): $25*\nJunior Admission (age 10 to 16): $15*. Must be accompanied by a paid adult with a General Admission ticket.\n\n*Ticket price includes materials fee. \n \nCancellations/Refunds \n\nTicket sales will not be refunded and will be considered a donation to Van Cortlandt Park Alliance if you cannot attend the workshop on December 16th. (If your fee is converted to a donation\, it will be considered fully tax-deductible.)\nIn the event of rain\, the workshop will be moved to Sunday\, December 17th and attendees will be notified the morning of the workshop.\nIf VCPA changes the date due to rain\, you will have the option of a refund if you are unable to attend on December 17th.
