Join Shayla\, Hailey\, and Dave for a 4-mile hike on carriage roads lit by moonlight. \nWe walk at a brisk pace and there will be hills; some hiking experience is recommended. Leashed dogs are welcome. \nMeet in the Visitor Center courtyard. Please bring water and wear comfortable closed-toed shoes. \nIMPORTANT: As most private transportation providers\, such as Uber and Lyft\, will not service the Preserve location in the evening hours\, please secure your transportation arrangements accordingly. \nWe leave promptly at scheduled times. This hike takes place after the park has closed; latecomers will not be able to join after the group has departed. DESCRIPTION:Ring in the New Year with birding at our historic Rockwood Hall site overlooking the Hudson River!\n\n\nStart off your New Year with an invigorating 1.5 mile walk along the Hudson River across the beautiful landscape of Rockwood Hall\, guided by Larry Trachtenberg of the Saw Mill River Audubon Society.  \nWe will keep an eye out for winter birds including both bald eagles and red-tailed hawks often seen in this part of the Preserve. \nDress warmly since it’s always colder by the Hudson and bring binoculars if you have them. \nNo pets please.  \nThis hike is at Rockwood Hall\, DO NOT go to the main Preserve entrance. Gather at the Rockwood Hall parking lot on Kendal Way at the west end of route 117\, just after the intersection of Phelps and Regeneron.
