Camp Armonk Sports

Camp Armonk Sports helps campers entering grades K-5 not only learn the skills and rules of various sports, but also become good leaders and teammates both on and off the field. Our goal is to help campers discover and foster their strengths and interests, with expert instruction that gives them the ability, encouragement, and passion to reach their potential.

The activities are organized into two groups: sports and games. The foundation of both is active participation and full gameplay, but the sports group places additional emphasis on practicing the fundamentals of the organized sports that the children play or will play. The games group, on the other hand, provides more opportunities for campers to just be active and have fun.

Camp Armonk Mad Science

Mad Science uses interactive activities to teach kids entering grades K-5 both practical and amazing science lessons. The dynamic Mad Scientists lead age-appropriate activities that are so fun and engaging that campers almost don’t realize they are gaining a clear understanding of science and how it affects the world around them. Each week focuses on a different theme, allowing campers to fully explore and understand the scientific principles behind them.

After lunch, Mad Science campers can enjoy either sports or art activities with a swim period. In the sports program, campers join Camp Armonk Sports for athletic activities that include tennis, swimming, and team-building exercises. These sports and games are intended to develop not only physical skills, but also interpersonal skills, as we emphasize sportsmanship and teamwork. In the art program, campers explore their innate creative spirits and learn foundational art techniques, as well as play strategy games.

We also offer a half-day option that includes just the Mad Science activities.

Tennis Academy

Armonk International Tennis Academy features summer programs for both casual and elite players. With two separate camps, players are able to set and attain their own goals, be it to comprehensively improve their games in a competitive environment, or to learn at a steadier, less intensive pace.

The AITA Junior Camp is designed for players ages 6-15 who are beginning tennis or at an intermediate level. Throughout the five-day week, players enhance their strokes and strategies via skill-building drills and games, situational play, organized matches, individual attention, and more. There are also field sports and swimming activities included throughout the day. For more information, contact Doug Sherman at doug@armonktennis.com.

The AITA Advanced Camp is for tournament-level players ages 8-18. The program consists of intensive group drilling, tactical training, private instruction, fitness routines, and more. It runs Monday-Thursday to accommodate players’ tournament schedules. Additional private lessons are also available throughout the week. Please note that players must be evaluated and recommended for this program. For more information, contact Greg Anderson at ganderson@armonkindoor.com.
