DESCRIPTION:Reeves-Reed Arboretum is excited to announce its first art exhibition of 2025\, Gardens on the Hill. This eclectic show brings together a curated selection of works from artists across the United States\, including celebrated talents from New Jersey. Each artist offers a unique lens through which the garden\, in all its diversity\, is interpreted. This exhibition mirrors the distinctive charm of Reeves-Reed Arboretum\, where each garden zone thrives with its own essence. Through varied techniques and styles\, these artists imbue their creations with the vibrancy of nature\, ultimately coming together in a collective showcase that honors the garden as both a personal sanctuary and a shared source of beauty and inspiration. \nGardens on the Hill features artists Pamela Casper\, Sheila Fox\, Valerie Leuchs\, Paige Lindsey\, Tracey Luckner\, Carolyn McKibbin\, Alyssa Watters\, Marilyn Foehrenbach Wirtz\, and Kelly Worman. Additionally\, a showcase of works by twelve artists from the Zone IV chapter of the Garden Club of America will be exhibited\, each inspired by two of the Arboretum’s iconic features: the rose garden and the daffodil bowl. Works range in media including oils\, watercolors\, ceramics\, and quilts. Artists’ interpretations of the garden vary in style from abstract to hyper-realistic. All works are for sale\, and the artists will generously donate 30% of each sale back to the Arboretum. \nThis exhibition is on display from February 11 – May 23. \nThe public is invited to an opening reception on February 22\, 2025 from 2 pm – 4 pm. DESCRIPTION:It’s going to be a sweet day! The whole family will enjoy spending the day outdoors\, learning the steps involved in turning tree sap into delicious maple syrup\, hiking on our trails\, and partaking in our Maple Sugaring Challenge! Enjoy a relaxed winter afternoon\, sipping hot chocolate\, shopping our vendors\, and more. \nWe will have staggered entry times at 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Please be sure to sign up for the correct time slot\, as changes will be based on availability. Please do not arrive before your registered time. This event will be held rain or shine; no refunds will be issued \nPlease note that registration for Family level members is limited to immediate family only. Individual and Senior level members are entitled to one entry and Dual level members are entitled to two entries. When registering\, please be sure to indicate the number of people attending. \nOnline registration closes at 3 p.m. on Friday\, February 28. \nMaple Sugaring Fest is FREE for RRA Members and children under 3. Each park will feature challenging and accessible hikes each month! March hikes take place at Sunken Meadow State Park. This is the more accessible hike. You’ll be walking on the flat boardwalk. \nNew participants will receive a passport booklet. Earn a sticker at each state park’s passport hike. Earn 10 stickers to be entered into a raffle for a chance to win FREE admission to our 2026 Environmental Education programs! \n(One sticker to be earned at each state park) \n$ 4 per person upon arrival. Meet at the nature center in Field 1! Space is limited! Reservations are required! Please make sure every child and adult in your party has a registered ticket. Children can explore the new Mystic Garden in the enchanted walk area for a magical experience. Friendly Halloween monsters and characters share candy\, stickers and pose for photos. Owner and preservation architect Joseph Lombardi once said that restoring The Octagon House was “like assembling a 500\,000-piece jigsaw puzzle” – a task so overwhelming that many considered it impossible! While exploring the veranda and three primary floors\, visitors will learn about the unbelievably detailed process of determining original interior and exterior paint colors\, the magical moments of uncovering new puzzle pieces of the house’s history\, and how the dome was saved from near collapse.
