Learn about the monarch life cycle and their incredible transcontinental migration\, why their numbers are in decline\, and what we can do to help them. \nThe hike will be about 2 miles with frequent stops for discussion. \nThe hike is at Rockwood Hall\, DO NOT go to the main Preserve entrance. \nThe parking lot is on Kendal Way off route 117\, just after the intersection of Phelps and Regeneron. If the lot is full\, you may park in the Phelps garage (free). Gather at the kiosk at the top of the hill across the street from the parking lot. \nFor the exact location of the parking lot\, visit: nynjtc.org/hike/rockwood-hall-sleepy-hollow. \nPlease wear sun protection\, bring water to drink\, and wear comfortable closed-toed shoes. Decorate\, and then take home your beautiful decorative wreath!\n\n\nCelebrate Summer’s beautiful blooms by creating your very own floral wreath! \n \nIn this workshop\, participants will take a short hike in the Van Cortlandt Park forest and harvest vines to use as the base of our wreaths. Back at the Garden & Compost Site\, vines will be twisted into a round shape\, ready to be adorned. Wreath decorations will include a mix of natural and artificial materials including seasonal flowers! All necessary materials will be provided.  \n \nGeneral Admission ticket ($20) includes entry for one adult\, or one adult and child/teen over the age of 12.  \nFor adults with more than one child/teen\, there is a smaller fee for each additional child ($10).
