Volunteer indoors or outdoors alongside our horticulturists to support the care and upkeep of our landscape. Tasks vary by session and may include weeding\, mulching\, watering\, and more. \nGround Force Sessions: \nThursdays & Saturdays\, 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM \nWhat to Bring & Wear: \n\n\nLong pants\, long socks\, and sturdy closed-toe shoes \n\n\nInsect repellent\, sunscreen\, and a refillable water bottle \n\n\nRain gear if light rain is expected—we work in drizzle! \n\n\nRegistration is required to receive updates in case of cancellations or schedule changes. Please register at least 24 hours before each session. \nWe will supply gloves as well as all other tools and materials. For your safety\, all tools and gloves are washed and sanitized. Please meet at the barn in our parking lot. If the session is cancelled due to inclement weather or any other reason\, we will contact you. Families receive a social narrative and visual vocabulary and schedule in advance. \nAstronauts Aboard\nFrom incredible journeys to sea and space\, the aircraft carrier Intrepid helped recover astronauts during the Space Race\, while the space shuttle Enterprise tested the future of spaceflight. Learn more about the surprising connection between these two icons and what it really takes to blast off into space and return safely home. \nCheck-in begins at 10:30am. Please arrive before 11:00am in order to participate in the full program. \nLooking for a program for older visitors? A similar program will be offered again from 2:00 to 4:00pm for teens and adults with developmental disabilities and their families.
