Tasks vary by session and may include weeding\, mulching\, watering\, and more. \nGround Force Sessions: \n\n\nThrough October: Thursdays & Saturdays\, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM \n\n\nStarting in November: Thursdays & Saturdays\, 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM \n\n\nWhat to Bring & Wear: \n\n\nLong pants\, long socks\, and sturdy closed-toe shoes \n\n\nInsect repellent\, sunscreen\, and a refillable water bottle \n\n\nRain gear if light rain is expected—we work in drizzle! \n\n\nRegistration is required to receive updates in case of cancellations or schedule changes. Please register at least 24 hours before each session. \nWe will supply gloves as well as all other tools and materials. For your safety\, all tools and gloves are washed and sanitized. From abstract patterns to botanical inspirations\, Nature’s Tapestry reimagines traditional quilting as a celebration of the garden. Many of the works are created using repurposed and reclaimed materials\, showcasing the sustainable potential of quilting as an art form. \nAbout the ArtistCarolyn McKibbin is an improv quilter and Summit resident. A former member of the Summit Garden Club and a seasonal gardener at Reeves-Reed Arboretum\, her own garden was featured on the Spring 2024 Summit Garden Tour. Organic shapes and bold colors are signature elements in both her quilts and her gardens. DESCRIPTION:Nature’s Tapestry Improvisational Quilts by Carolyn McKibbin \nReeves-Reed Arboretum is pleased to announce our latest art exhibition\, Nature’s Tapestry—a vibrant collection of improvisational quilts by local artist Carolyn McKibbin. In addition to wall-hung works\, the exhibition features functional quilted pieces\, including wearables\, pillows\, and clothing. \nMcKibbin’s quilts capture the beauty of nature through organic forms\, earthy textures\, and seasonal hues. From abstract patterns to botanical inspirations\, Nature’s Tapestry reimagines traditional quilting as a celebration of the garden. Many of the works are created using repurposed and reclaimed materials\, showcasing the sustainable potential of quilting as an art form. \nAbout the ArtistCarolyn McKibbin is an improv quilter and Summit resident. A former member of the Summit Garden Club and a seasonal gardener at Reeves-Reed Arboretum\, her own garden was featured on the Spring 2024 Summit Garden Tour. Organic shapes and bold colors are signature elements in both her quilts and her gardens.
