SUMMARY:Space Rocks: Asteroids\, Comets\, and Meteorites
DESCRIPTION:Space Rocks: Asteroids\, Comets\, and Meteorites\n\n\nDid you know that up to 100 tons of dust and sand-sized particles from space bombard Earth daily?! \nThankfully\, most of it doesn’t make it through our atmosphere. However\, the larger meteorites that do survive offer a unique glimpse into the formation and evolution of our solar system. \nJoin educator\, Kim Fendrich\, for a presentation on asteroids\, comets\, and meteorites\, and learn about the stories they tell us. Experience what it feels like to hold an iron meteorite forged in the core of an asteroid as old as the solar system itself! \nThe presentation will take place in the art gallery at the Visitor’s Center. \nAll ages are welcome; however\, this program is best suited for those 12+. \nYou are encouraged to register for the stargazing program afterward and view the night sky with a renewed perspective! Feel free to bring your dinner or a snack to enjoy while you watch the presentation. \nMax: 20 people. \nThis program is wheelchair accessible. \nPhotos courtesy of Vinny Coulehan
