The seven principles of Kwanzaa–unity\, self-determination\, collective work and responsibility\, cooperative economics\, purpose\, creativity and faith—will be explored through discussion and the creation of simple handmade gifts. Materials will be supplied by Westbury Arts. \n“This is a time to honor lessons taught by our ancestors\,” says Westbury resident Mrs.Marcia Odle McNair\, who is coordinating the event. Mrs. McNair is the author of a book titled Kwanzaa Crafts–Gifts and Decorations for a Meaningful and Festive Celebration. \n“Our Kwanzaa celebration promises to be an afternoon filled with engaging activities and lively performances\,” she says. \nThis is a family friendly event and children are encouraged to attend. Parking is free on weekends in the Westbury Village lot directly across from the Westbury Arts building.
