DESCRIPTION:(all ages) \n\n\nEnjoy a Free Guided Tour of the Arboretum\n\n\n\n\nFree guided tours of the Arboretum are offered most Saturdays at 10:30 am and 1:30 pm\, from April 19 through October 18. \n\n\n\n\nTours begin at the Visitors Center. No reservations are required and tours are on a first-come\, first-served basis for individuals who would like to learn more about the current season’s highlights. Limit of 7 people per tour. Anyone under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. No groups. Tours last approximately 30-45 minutes. \nSaturday Garden Tours may be suspended on days with excessive heat. We apologize for any inconvenience.

In addition to wall-hung works\, the exhibition features functional quilted pieces\, including wearables\, pillows\, and clothing. \nMcKibbin’s quilts capture the beauty of nature through organic forms\, earthy textures\, and seasonal hues. From abstract patterns to botanical inspirations\, Nature’s Tapestry reimagines traditional quilting as a celebration of the garden. Many of the works are created using repurposed and reclaimed materials\, showcasing the sustainable potential of quilting as an art form. \nAbout the ArtistCarolyn McKibbin is an improv quilter and Summit resident. A former member of the Summit Garden Club and a seasonal gardener at Reeves-Reed Arboretum\, her own garden was featured on the Spring 2024 Summit Garden Tour. Organic shapes and bold colors are signature elements in both her quilts and her gardens.
