SUMMARY:Mindfulness and Stress Management for Middle and High Schoolers @ Dorothy Henry
DESCRIPTION:Life as a middle and high schooler can be incredibly stressful. Come to the library on select Saturdays to talk about ways we hold stress in our body and what we can do about that. We’ll learn some useful stretches you can do in a chair while you work on schoolwork\, as well as some easy yoga poses to help target the most common areas we hold tension in. We’ll talk about ways to try to manage anxiety and stress\, like journaling\, and how those emotions feel in our bodies so that we can try to identify ways to mitigate them. We’ll also learn some mindfulness strategies and end our program with a guided meditation. \nParticipants are asked to bring a yoga mat if they have one (there will be a limited number for loaning)\, bottle of water and wear comfortable clothes that allow for modest movement.
