DESCRIPTION:(adults and teens 16 yrs+) \nThis engaging terrarium workshop blends science and creativity through hands-on learning. Participants will explore the fundamentals of small-scale ecosystems\, gaining insight into how light\, moisture\, and plant interactions support a balanced environment. Using live mosses and plants\, participants will design and build a self-sustaining terrarium while learning about plant selection\, design basics\, and ongoing care. The workshop will meet in the Wisner House sunporch. \nAll supplies are included\, and each participant will go home with a finished 5” glass terrarium and care instructions. No experience necessary. \nThe cost is per person. SUMMARY:Passaic River/Great Swamp Paddle
DESCRIPTION:Kayak Tour on the Passaic River \n(All ages\, 15 & under must be accompanied by an adult\, children ages 8-12 years must share a tandem kayak with an adult) \nBordering Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge\, this section of the Passaic River boasts beautiful scenery and plenty of wildlife. You’ll feel at one with nature as the river’s twists and turns carry you deeper into the refuge’s soul. \nLed by an ACA (American Canoe Association) certified kayak instructor from Kayak East\, this tour is rated “Easy” meaning no experience is necessary.  Great for families and paddlers of any skill level.  Photographers\, bird-watchers and anyone who wants to get outside and enjoy nature will love it! \nPlan to meet at the Passaic River in Bernards Township at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the tour for boat fit. Directions and additional information will be provided upon registration. Paddlers ages 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
