DESCRIPTION:Outdoor Adventures – Great Backyard Bird Count \nSaturday\, February 17th\, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm \nThe Great Backyard Bird Count is a global event that takes place from Friday\, February 16 through Monday\, February 19 (https://www.birdcount.org). Each year\, volunteers tally the birds they see in backyards\, parks\, and natural areas. Stop by Van Vleck House & Gardens Saturday February 17th to join the birding fun and do your part as a citizen scientist to log local bird populations. \nOur Van Vleck Education team will guide your family through this interactive learning experience. This program is entirely outdoors\, weather dependent. Registration is required and includes everything you need to participate in the program. Designed for children ages 4 -11 but all are welcome. \nFee and registration links: FREE for Members of Van Vleck; $15 per family for Non-Members \nRegistration required by 1 day prior to each class. \nOther Outdoor Adventures classes this year: \nMarch 23 – Seed Starting \nApril 20 – Upcycle \nMay 18 – Bees and Pollinators  \nJune 8 – Animal Habitats
