SUMMARY:Forest Bathing Mini-Retreat
DESCRIPTION:(for adults) \nForest Bathing\, also known as Nature and Forest Therapy\, is a slow meditative walk in nature that takes a holistic view of the physiological\, mental\, emotional\, and psycho-spiritual benefits to be derived from an embodied contact with nature and aims to engage humans through their senses\, not their intellects. Forest Bathing can be viewed as an effective strategy to maintain and boost immune strength in human beings. \nEnjoy this spiritually and emotionally enriching experience on the beautiful grounds of Reeves-Reed Arboretum. Rich Collins will be the guide for this wonderful morning in nature. \nA few tips from Rich to make your walk more comfortable: \n\nThe walk will last for about 2.5 hours.\nWe will be moving slowly and using our senses to connect with nature so this will not be an athletic walk.\nPlease dress in layers so you can be comfortable with temperature changes.\nIf you wish\, you can bring sunscreen\, bug spray\, and/or water.\nRich will provide small mats to use when sitting.\n\nRich Collins is a Certified Guide for the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs (ANFT)\, based in Morristown & Barnegat Light\, New Jersey.  His company\, Friendly Territory\, specializes in Nature & Forest Therapy walks and retreats. SUMMARY:Daffodil Plein Air Painting Workshop
DESCRIPTION:(adults and teens 16 yrs+) \nExperience the joy of painting outdoors during the height of daffodil season at Reeves-Reed Arboretum in this plein air painting workshop led by artist Eric Alexander Santoli. Surrounded by sweeping spring color\, participants will work directly from the landscape\, capturing the beauty and energy of the Arboretum in bloom. \nThe workshop will focus on rapid\, alla prima (one-sitting) painting techniques\, helping artists interpret the landscape efficiently while responding to changing light and weather conditions. Instruction will emphasize developing strong compositions\, effective use of color theory\, and confident decision-making when working outdoors. \nThis special program also coincides with Reeves-Reed Arboretum being featured in an upcoming episode of Eric’s new public television series\, Eric En Plein Air. \nOpen to all experience levels. All watercolor supplies are included; however\, participants are welcome to bring their own materials and mediums if they prefer. Participants are encouraged to bring a camping chair with a cup holder and an easel\, if they have one. \nIn the case of inclement weather\, the program will be postponed to a rain date on Saturday\, April 18\, from 11 am–1 pm. Students will be notified of any program changes due to weather. \nThe cost is per person.
