SUMMARY:Closing Reception: Nature’s Tapestry
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Reeves-Reed Arboretum for a celebratory closing reception of Nature’s Tapestry\, an exhibition that weaves together art\, gardens\, and sustainability. \nMeet featured artist Carolyn McKibbin\, who will share insights into her improvisational quilting practice\, inspired by the textures and rhythms of gardens. \nOut on the Arboretum grounds\, we invite the public to explore two distinctive and imaginative sculptures. Jose Criollo’s Tortoise\, crafted from recycled metal and machine parts\, reflects his inventive approach to transforming everyday materials into whimsical animal forms. Criollo will be present to discuss his sculpture process and inspiration with guests. Nearby\, Aristides\, a large-scale bent willow installation by Kentucky artist Justin Roberts\, has been a highlight of the landscape throughout the exhibition. This reception will offer guests a final opportunity to experience this striking work in its Arboretum setting. \nEnjoy light refreshments as you wander between gallery and garden\, exploring works that highlight creativity\, sustainability\, and the beauty of the natural world. \nThis event is free and open to the public. Registration is encouraged but not required. \nQuilts and sculptures are for sale\, and artists have agreed to donate 30% of all sales to the Arboretum.
