SUMMARY:Féminin Pluriel\, a solo exhibition by artist Pascale Bouchard
DESCRIPTION:Reeves-Reed Arboretum is pleased to present Féminin Pluriel\, a solo exhibition by Québec-based artist Pascale Bouchard. This exhibition highlights Bouchard’s distinctive encaustic practice\, in which pigmented beeswax and heat are used to create richly textured works of art. Rooted in themes of transformation\, memory\, and the symbolic power of the feminine\, her work draws deeply from floral imagery and organic forms\, evoking both the fragility and resilience of the natural world. \nA curated selection of artist-designed objects and garments inspired by the Féminin Pluriel series will be available for purchase\, and a live demonstration of Bouchard’s encaustic technique will be scheduled this fall at the Arboretum. \nThe exhibition will be on view from June 2 through October 31 in the Wisner House. \nGallery hours are Tuesday through Sunday\, 10 am – 4 pm unless closed for a private event. Please check here for updated hours.  \nAll works in this exhibition will be for sale\, and the artist will donate 30% of all sales to the Arboretum.

SUMMARY:“Inside the Faerie Realm” ballet performance
DESCRIPTION:Join us for this family event! Glen Ridge based nonprofit Mosaic Dance Theater Company will perform an original ballet on the terrace behind Van Vleck House. \nVisit our Fairy Garden after the performance and build a fairy home. \nPlease bring a blanket or lawn chairs. Fairy attire is welcome! \nTickets are $5 per person/$20 per family. \n \n“Celebrating the Mediterranean’s Lively Arts” \nwww.MosaicDanceTheaterCo.org \nMosaic Dance Theater Company (MDTC) is dedicated to the dance and folkloric traditions of the Mediterranean — North Africa\, the Middle East\, and southern Europe — creating dance\, theater\, and educational programs which celebrate the rich diversity of cultures of this region. The dances and music\, the stories and myths\, and the history and legends of this fascinating area form the wellspring of inspiration for MDTC’s creative vision. \nTouring nationally to performing arts venues\, universities\, schools\, and community organizations\, MDTC is known for its artistry and authenticity\, not only in creating the original works that comprise its repertory\, but also in faithfully researching their origins to ensure cultural integrity. The Company has been presented under the auspices of Lincoln Center’s “Meet the Artist” Program\, Young Audiences of New Jersey/Eastern Pennsylvania\, Arts Horizons\, and is on the roster of Arts-in-Education artists for Hartford Performs (CT) and Morris Arts (NJ). MDTC is the recipient of the 2013 Sunshine Award for its contribution to the performing arts\, recognized by NARAS (National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences) and the United Nations. \nIn a world engulfed by popular culture\, MDTC embraces the historical treasures of the past\, the ways of tradition\, and the sensibilities of the present in its goal to celebrate the remarkable varieties and similarities of the Mediterranean cultures. \nFounded in 2003 by Producing Artistic Director Morgiana Celeste Varricchio\, MDTC evolved out of dance and theater productions originally developed by Ms. Varricchio which began touring in 1992 and are now a part of MDTC’s repertory. Samara Adell\, MDTC’s Choreographer and Artistic Director for Dance\, began her collaboration with Ms. Varricchio in 2000\, and since the Company’s inception\, it has premiered its original dance works to critical acclaim.
