Volunteer indoors or outdoors alongside our horticulturists to support the care and upkeep of our landscape. Tasks vary by session and may include weeding\, mulching\, watering\, and more. \nGround Force Sessions: \n\n\nThursdays \n\n\n10:00 AM – 12:00 PM \n\n\n\n\nSaturdays \n\n\nMarch – 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM \n\nApril & May  – 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM\n\n\n\nWhat to Bring & Wear: \n\n\nLong pants\, long socks\, and sturdy closed-toe shoes \n\n\nInsect repellent\, sunscreen\, and a refillable water bottle \n\n\nRain gear if light rain is expected—we work in drizzle! \n\n\nRegistration is required to receive updates in case of cancellations or schedule changes. Please register at least 24 hours before each session. \nWe will supply gloves as well as all other tools and materials. For your safety\, all tools and gloves are washed and sanitized. Please meet at the barn in our parking lot. If the session is cancelled due to inclement weather or any other reason\, we will contact you. These environments place unique demands on plants\, and only certain species and cultivars truly thrive in parks\, traffic medians\, streetscapes\, and naturalized areas. \nIn this lecture\, Vincent Simeone will highlight outstanding deciduous and evergreen trees suited to these landscapes\, as well as for private backyards. He will discuss species that support birds and pollinators\, and those that offer valuable traits such as deer resistance\, drought and heat tolerance\, and resilience against pests. \nThis FREE lecture is presented in collaboration with The Summit Shade Tree Advisory Committee. \nAttending this lecture\, earns you 1 Continuing Education Unit (CEU).
