DESCRIPTION:(age 14+\, age 12-13 with adult) \nJoin Our Horticulture Team! \nHelp maintain and enhance the beauty of our gardens and grounds all year long—spring\, summer\, fall\, and even winter! Volunteer indoors or outdoors alongside our horticulturists to support the care and upkeep of our landscape. Tasks vary by session and may include weeding\, mulching\, watering\, and more. \nGround Force Sessions: \nThursdays & Saturdays\, 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM \nWhat to Bring & Wear: \n\n\nLong pants\, long socks\, and sturdy closed-toe shoes \n\n\nInsect repellent\, sunscreen\, and a refillable water bottle \n\n\nRain gear if light rain is expected—we work in drizzle! \n\n\nRegistration is required to receive updates in case of cancellations or schedule changes. Please register at least 24 hours before each session. \nWe will supply gloves as well as all other tools and materials. For your safety\, all tools and gloves are washed and sanitized. Please meet at the barn in our parking lot. If the session is cancelled due to inclement weather or any other reason\, we will contact you. First-time volunteers must bring a completed Volunteer Waiver form to their first volunteer session. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister here.

DESCRIPTION:Registration here > \n  \nUnwind after work and spend your Thursday evening at El Museo del Barrio with an intimate gallery conversation featuring artists and thinkers who share their personal perspectives on works on view in Coco Fusco: Tomorrow\, I Will Become an Island\, and Jangueando: Recent Acquisitions\, 2021–2025. These informal talks invite you to slow down\, look closely\, and connect more deeply with the artwork in an informal setting. \nTonight’s gallery talk will be led by Emmy award-winning spoken word artist and Executive Director of the Nuyorican Poets Cafe\, Caridad De La Luz “La Bruja”\, who will share personal reflections on selected artworks\, engaging visitors through the lens of poetry\, performance\, and cultural expression. \nPlease note: El Museo will stay open late every Thursday in February\, until 8:00 PM. Come early\, enjoy the exhibitions at your own pace\, and then join us for the gallery conversation from 6:30–7:30 PM. This program is designed as an interactive\, guided experience in the galleries and has limited capacity. Advance registration is recommended. Please register here > \n \nCaridad De La Luz is a world-renowned spoken word artist known as La Bruja. She won an Emmy in 2022 as Script Writer for Legacy of Puerto Rican Poetry\, which aired on ABC during the National Puerto Rican Day Parade 2021. Since 2022\, she has been the Executive Director of the Nuyorican Poets Cafe where she began her career in 1996\, helping secure a 24-million-dollar renovation project called Nuyorican-Struction\, which will celebrate its grand reopening on Halloween of 2026. All of the cafe’s legendary programming continues off-site during construction.
