DESCRIPTION:Join Reeves-Reed Arboretum for a special reception celebrating Chromatic Terrain: Contemporary Landscapes by Greg Navratil on February 8 from 11:00 am–12:30 pm. This special event invites visitors to explore Navratil’s vivid interpretations of the natural world\, translated into expressive\, richly layered compositions. \nThe reception will feature remarks by Curator Frank Juliano\, who will offer insight into the artist’s process and the exhibition’s connection to the Arboretum’s seasonal landscape. Guests will have the opportunity to view and purchase artwork\, with 30% of all sales benefiting the Arboretum. \nThis event is free and open to the public. Registration is recommended but not required. DESCRIPTION:The Intrepid Museum offers Access Family Programs for children with developmental disabilities and their families!\n\n\nAccess Family Programs (Children ages 5-17)\nThe Intrepid Museum offers programs for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families on select Sundays during regular Museum hours. Families take a guided\, interactive tour of the Museum and can participate in activities that everyone can enjoy. Families receive a social narrative and visual vocabulary and schedule in advance. \nAstronauts Aboard\nFrom incredible journeys to sea and space\, the aircraft carrier Intrepid helped recover astronauts during the Space Race\, while the space shuttle Enterprise tested the future of spaceflight. Learn more about the surprising connection between these two icons and what it really takes to blast off into space and return safely home. \nCheck-in begins at 10:30am. Please arrive before 11:00am in order to participate in the full program. \nLooking for a program for older visitors? A similar program will be offered again from 2:00 to 4:00pm for teens and adults with developmental disabilities and their families.
