DESCRIPTION:(school age children and parents) \nOn this important day of service\, families are invited to stop by the Stackhouse Education Center to create Valentine cards that will be delivered to clients of SAGE Eldercare to brighten their day. This in-person drop-in event allows us to gather as a community in service of others. \nWe’ll provide all the supplies—paper\, ribbon\, yarn\, and other recycled and repurposed materials—for you to create thoughtful\, upcycled Valentine cards. You are welcome to stay and make your cards onsite\, or take supplies home and return your finished cards to the Arboretum anytime before February 3 by placing them in the container outside the Stackhouse Education Center. \nReeves-Reed Arboretum honors and remembers the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King\, Jr. by coming together to reach out and warm the hearts of our neighbors. \nThis is a drop-in event. Registration is not required. \n\n\n\nThe schedule of all MLK activities in Summit and link. TBD. \nMember Price | Non-Member Price: Free \nNotice: Due to ongoing construction for the Path for All project\, Arboretum parking will be unavailable Monday through Friday\, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Join us for a volunteer event!\n\n\nMartin Luther King Jr. Day is the only federal holiday designated as a National Day of Service. In honor of the day\, join us for a litter cleanup along the lakeshore and possible maple sap collection dependent on the weather. This program is designed for ages 12 and up.  \nPlease dress accordingly for the weather. Bring a jacket\, closed toe hiking shoes\, and a water bottle. Litter picking materials (pick sticks\, gloves\, trash bags\, etc.) will be provided. \nWe will meet at the Environmental Education and Resiliency Center in Field 1 of Hempstead Lake State Park. \nNo admission fees for this program. Each person in your party needs a ticket.Reservations are required for all programs. Space is limited. If you are unable to keep your reservation\, please cancel so others may have the opportunity to attend.
