We will cover a variety of topics that give us a deeper understanding of where the food we eat comes from including growing vegetables\, creating compost\, the precipitation cycle\, supporting pollinators\, raising chickens\, and harvesting crops. This class is best intended for ages 5-12 and is a rain-or-shine event. It is always wise to dress for a mess! \nThis program is recommended to be taken as a series\, a discounted rate is applied for those who enroll for all 6 weeks. However\, participants are able to register for individual topics of interest. Parents are required to remain with children for the duration of the class. \n  \nEducational Outcomes:\n● Practice newly emerging motor skills and behavioral patterns. \n● Develop social skills through both imaginative and cooperative play. \n● Foster a deeper sense of connection to nature. \n  \n*Fees cannot be refunded for participant cancellation or any other reason. DESCRIPTION:Museum staff and other guest readers share stories\, rhymes and sing-alongs with children ages 2 to 5 years and their caregivers every Friday at 10:00 am. A $5 suggested donation is appreciated. \nLaunched in 2005 by librarian and former Museum Trustee Penny Metsch\, the program is open to all on a first-come\, first-served basis\, and children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. \nDue to weather or staffing shortages\, the program may be canceled without advance notice.
