DESCRIPTION:This storytime is developed specially for children ages 3 – 5 and their parent/caregiver. Enjoy 45 minutes of books\, songs\, rhymes\, socialization\, and a craft with other young children and their parent/caregiver. Each session of preschool storytime consists of a variety of activities that incorporate reading\, talking\, writing\, singing\, and playing.\nRegistration is required for each week attending. Depending on the day\, you’ll either find Kalvin\, a wonderful German Shepherd; Granger\, the most gentle of shepherds; or Richard\, a loveable black Lab. Reading aloud increases self-esteem\, confidence\, public speaking skills and a love of reading. These dogs are gentle spirits that can also help calm a worried or stressed child. \nEach participant gets 10 minutes of one-on-one reading time. To register for a timeslot stop by or call the Dennis Library at 973 383-4810\, option 2. DESCRIPTION:Four daughters of wealthy Philip Schuyler ran away to elope with rich men. But Elizabeth Schuyler married Alexander Hamilton – a penniless\, orphaned immigrant – for love. We will read the love letters Hamilton sent to Eliza during their courtship\, then meet two other women – Angelica Schuyler Church and Maria Reynolds – who also pursued Alexander. This program features music from the Hamilton Broadway musical including The Schuyler Sisters\, Helpless\, Satisfied\, and It’s Quiet Uptown. \nPresenter Rick Feingold teaches American Business History at Bergen County Community College.
