The most experienced players in the room facilitate the game and new faces are always welcome. If you’re an expert\, come share what you know and help improve everyone’s level of play. \nThis event happens most Tuesdays from 1:00-3:00. DESCRIPTION:Children\, tweens and teens are invited to read aloud to our wonderful therapy dogs. Depending on the day\, you’ll either find Kalvin\, a wonderful German Shepherd; Granger\, the most gentle of shepherds; or Richard\, a loveable black Lab. Reading aloud increases self-esteem\, confidence\, public speaking skills and a love of reading. These dogs are gentle spirits that also can help calm a worried or stressed child. \nEach participant gets 10 minutes of one-on-one reading time. To register for a timeslot stop by or call the Dennis Library at 973 383-4810\, option 2. Please arrive on time with a book you’d like to read\, or early enough to choose some library books.

The Dorothy Henry Library invites kids ages 11-13 to stop by the community room after school on Mondays and/or Tuesdays from 3:45-4:45 to decompress and hang out. Kids can work on homework\, read\, watch videos\, play a game\, do a craft or just hang out in a space that’s dedicated to them for an hour. This unstructured time is meant for tweens and teens to set their own agenda. No registration is required.
