Dog Man: The Musical

Dog Man: The Musical is coming back to New York starting March 4th and running through April 30th at New World Stages. The show is a family-friendly adventure that follows the adventures of a canine superhero who fights crime while trying to be a good boy. The musical features characters from Dav Pilkey’s popular Dog Man book series, which encourages reading, imagination, and friendship.
Dog Man: The Musical features an original book and lyrics by Kevin Del Aguila, music by Brad Alexander, and orchestrations by Lloyd Kikoler. It will be directed and choreographed by Jen Wineman. The show debuted as part of TheaterWorksUSA’s Family Summer Theater program in 2019 and received positive reviews from both audiences and critics. Dog Man creator Dav Pilkey is also thrilled about the return of the musical, saying “Dog Man: The Musical is the perfect mash-up of memorable music, humor, and love.” The musical’s return is timely, coinciding with the release of the next book in the Dog Man series, “Dog Man: Twenty Thousand Fleas Under the Sea”, which will be published by Scholastic on March 28th, 2023.
