The Museum’s newest exhibition, “The Horse,” on view through January 4, 2009, reveals the fascinating story of the enduring bond between horses and humans and explores the origins of the horse family, which extend back more than 50 million years. The ever-popular exhibition “Lizards & Snakes: Alive!” also returns, featuring over 60 live animals. Open daily from 10am-5:45pm, the Museum houses 46 permanent exhibition halls, including the world-renowned Koch Dinosaur Wing, the Milstein Hall of Ocean Life, the Akeley Hall of African Mammals and the Spitzer Hall of Human Origins. The spectacular Rose Center for Earth and Space includes the Hayden Planetarium, with the most technologically advanced space theater in existence, and striking exhibits about the nature of the universe and the Earth.
