Play Attention® is an interactive learning tool that assists children and adults in developing control over attention and behavior. It is the main component of Focus through Fun, Inc., Long Island’s first and only Certified Play Attention® Learning Center. In Play Attention®, the user wears a bicycle helmet lined with three sensors that monitor brain waves associated with a focused attentive state and clear cognitive processing, while playing fun computer video exercises controlled “by mind alone.” Using Edufeedback®, a combination of neurofeedback and professional coaching, the user does five types of video exercises which increase attention stamina, visual tracking, time on task, short-term memory sequencing, and discriminatory processing. Over time, users improve focus and develop skills that help them concentrate and become more successful learners. Certified Play Attention® coaches help the users increase behaviors that improve attention skills and reduce distracting behaviors which interfere with focus. Originally developed by NASA to help astronauts improve and maintain their attention, it is now used all over the world to help children (age 7+), teens and adults. Focus through Fun students also do specialized activities developed by BrainTrain®, including Captain’s Log®, SoundSmart® and SmartDriver®. These stimulating, entertaining, non-violent video games improve visual and auditory cognitive processing skills, working memory, impulse control, visual tracking, eye-hand coordination, planning, attention to detail, concentration, decision making and patience in individuals ages 4 and up.
