Providing
comprehensive services for children with autism spectrum disorder.
At The Manhattan Childrens Center they believe that every child
deserves the opportunity to become a functional member of their
community. They understand that all children are unique and individualized
instruction is essential to their growth. They support parents
and families in helping them to understand the special needs of
their children. Families are an equal participant in the decision
making process and educational experience of their children. Manhattan
Children's Center provides scientifically-based world class treatment
and education to children, ages 3 to 12, utilizing the principles
of Applied Behavior Analysis. Their goal is to offer every child
an opportunity to enjoy a quality of life and emerge as a functioning
member of society, using individualized instruction according
to his or her developmental abilities. This program’s interdisciplinary
model incorporates ABA, speech and language therapy, occupational
therapy, as well as sensory integration, natural environment training
and family support. They provide a comprehensive educational approach
for children with autism spectrum disorder utilizing scientific
research-based interventions that are effective based on years
of experience on their other campus. They are a partner in research
and service activities with Columbia University, Teachers College
faculty and students. Program information may be obtained by contacting
